I Bootstrapped Two Successful Companies

I founded two technology startups, CarBuy and DealerMax, and built them into profitable companies, with annual revenues exceeding $23 million, and then later sold them to investors.

Both companies started out as different ventures than stated in my original business plan. By listening to customers, I identified untapped business potential that played to my strengths. CarBuy originally started out as a online car brokering service, but it soon because apparent my strength was getting online sales leads, which I sold to online business services.

Not all my ventures were successful. I opened a car dealership in South Florida, but closed it because I had to self-finance my customers, and a lot of cars had to be repossessed - something I found draining, if not dangerous.
